Grant was incredible and saved me so much money through his thorough report. Turns out the house was pretty much falling apart and would have needed loads and loads of work. For register of title we turned to Barnes & Barnes for the market valuation of both leasehold and freehold of a couple of properties in south London. The service from Barnes & Barnes was great. They were quick to reply and helpful every step of the way. We quickly got a homebuyers survey scheduled and after the survey, had a 30 min call with the surveyer to go through the report and any questions we might have. Natalie was so helpful and patient and as first time buyers it really settled our minds. Would reccommend to anyone!

When a relative fell in love with a property I decided to get a professional eye on things and arranged a survey at short notice,and quite a few important issues were highlighted which could have been quite costly,report was very detailed and contained pictures,also had detailed chat with surveyor which again helped me to make the right decision,so great service if you have any doubts get a professional eye involved.

Barnes and Barnes offers excellent service and provides advice that a homebuyer needs. All properties come with some sort of problem, one way or another. Some surveyors tell you what is wrong without more. But with Grant Barnes not only he highlights risks to the property, but informs you of the magnitude of the risks and how to respond to them.On one occassion in which Grant highlighted that there are serious issues with a property that we were not aware of, we did not proceed. We learnt later on that had we proceeded with the transaction, it will have huge financial impact on us. For this we are very much grateful for Grant's advice.The wider team is also very helpful and responsive on correspondence, and with scheduling calls with the surveyor.Overall I highly recommend homebuyers to consider instructing Barnes and Barnes when you are purchasing a property in London and surrounding areas.

Barnes and Barnes was recommended to me, and I would definitely recommend to others myself. I commissioned them a Home Buyer Report. The Report was thorough and very informative. The surveyor was also available for a follow-up phone call. I had the impression they really care about their job, which is very reassuring as a property buyer.

Brilliant experience. Grant Barnes did a RICS Homebuyer survey for a flat me & partner were interested in buying recently. The report was very reasonably priced and had a quick turnaround. The report was very thorough and the layout was easy to read and easy to see which parts were most urgent/concerning.Grant very kindly spent time on the phone before & after the survey with me (I'm a first-time buyer), explaining the many questions I had, which I much appreciated. The reception staff I've spoken to have been nothing but helpful and professional too.We were able to make an informed decision not to purchase the property after receiving the survey. Despite the purchase falling through, we're very happy to have found a professional & reliable surveyor for the future. We'll definitely be using Barnes & Barnes again on the next property we put down an offer on!Update 26/07/2021:I used Barnes & Barnes for another survey on a different property recently and once again, got the same fantastic service. The original survey date in June had to be pushed back due to the sellers having a Covid scare, and all the Barnes & Barnes staff were wonderfully patient with helping me get the survey rearranged. They got it done very soon after.The report was very thorough and extremely helpful, and I had another post-survey call with Grant which really reassured me and helped me clear some things up.I can't recommend them enough!

Grant did a building survey on the Victorian house we were purchasing (which is inclusive of a chat before the survey and follow up conversations). He was very approachable and efficient and the reception team were extremely helpful and quick at responding (shout out to Amelia). Sadly our vendor pulled out just before exchange of contracts..it means we’ll hopefully find somewhere else soon and if so we’ll surely be back using Barnes & Barnes services

Great communication and very responsive. Survey was conducted to a high standard and in the timeframe agreed. Perhaps not the cheapest option but the fee was fair and it was the only firm we contacted who were professional and focused on the job.

We used Barnes and Barnes for our house purchase this year, the report was really thorough and it highlighted several issues that I needed to pick up with the seller. Grant talked me through the report and explained to me in "non-technical" speak what each of the items I was concerned about meant and what a proposed approach to them would be, which was extremely helpful. There are a couple of not so great reviews on here which are from sellers of properties - and these reviews are exactly why I chose Grant. I wanted someone who had my best interests in mind (not the sellers!) as at the end of the day its my money at stake. I was not disappointed. Thanks Grant and team.

Grant did a Homebuyers Report for me in December. It wasn't the quickest lead time on offer, but the in-depth quality of the survey was worth the wait. I felt equipped in the conveyancing process but also it put me in a good position to be able to competently maintain the property post-completion. I had a subsequent enquiry in January about the garden demise, and Grant took the time to give me some knowledgable advice over the phone on how to resolve the issue. Would recommend without hesitation.

I chose Barnes and Barnes ahead of other surveyors, despite being the upper end of the quotes I had received, as I was impressed with their local knowledge and experience of the area. I was left confident that it would be one of the named core team of very experienced surveyors doing the assessment, and not signing off a report produced by a trainee (fear of service provided by other cheaper suppliers).Grant Barnes undertook my survey directly and was very helpful talking it through on the phone afterwards and giving advice on how to understand and act upon the survey results.As a first time buyer I would highly recommend Barnes and Barnes as surveying professionals.

My first experience dealing with building surveyors, and was completely satisfied with the service. I needed an extremely urgent survey carried out, and was calling around frantically for a company who could turn it around in 2 days. Keith visited on the same day and got my report back to me within the required timeframe. Very positive experience, and will definitely use again and recommend

I hired Haywater Surveyors to do a small valuation in a residential property for me. I couldn't be happier with their service. They were extremely professional and thorough, and very reasonably priced.
