Grant started his career as a chartered surveyor in London in the late 1990s. Before launching Barnes & Barnes, he worked with CBRE, Bradford & Bingley bank, Countrywide and Allsop, the national property auctions consultancy. Besides his surveying qualifications, and a degree in economics, Grant also has a postgraduate diploma in historic building conservation. Grant has undertaken legal experience training and been successful in achieving an Advanced Professional Award in Expert Witness Evidence (APAEWE).

Simon moved into the property sector following a number of years as an officer in the British Army. On leaving the army he qualified as a surveyor and has been assessing and valuing residential and commercial properties in London since 2010.

Natasha has over 25 years of experience within the property sector in various capacities. Initially, as an estate agent working for Hamptons International within several London offices, prior to setting up her own London estate agency. She has a passion for construction, particularly carbon-neutral design principles and after starting a family, she qualified as a residential surveyor and now specialises in residential home buyer reports and valuations throughout London.

Tony is an experienced Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer with over 30 years of experience. Before qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor he worked in property at the District Valuers Office in London and for Harlow District Council in their estates department. He qualified in 1992 in BSc General Practice Surveying and was Chartered in 1993, while working as an Estates Surveyor. He made the move into residential surveying in 1997 and since then has worked for a number of firms across London and the north and east home counties of Essex, Herts, Beds, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk, carrying out Valuations, Homebuyers, and Building Surveys.

Chartered Civil / Structural Engineer
Mike has more than 40 years’ experience in the structural design of buildings, and the inspection, investigation and reporting of structural defects. He has completed thousands of building surveys and is a specialist in structural defects to domestic properties in particular. Mike is also party wall surveyor (Member of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors) and has given evidence as an expert witness in court. Mike has also developed a UK-wide network for chartered engineers and surveyors and organised a number of conferences to support and raise standards in the sector.
Laraine is one of our vital customer support team, who will help you decide which service is right for you and get your service booked quickly. She’ll liaise with you, the surveyor, and any third parties such as estate agents to ensure the survey is completed and your report is with you as quickly as possible.
Frances is one of our customer support team. With many years of experience in the surveying industry, she’ll help you to understand our different services and which is the best for you. She’s also well-placed to guide you through the process from booking to receiving your report, answering any questions you may have along the way.
As well as managing our website, Claire looks after the survey process making sure it’s the best experience for our customers. She is also responsible for ongoing communications with our customers after they have received their surveys and reports.
